President

The President shall have general supervision over the business activities of the South Dakota State Council  She is the leader, spiritual and actual; one who maintains unity and harmony within the state, and who directs committees and members toward a common goal.  She encourages member participation and promotes goodwill and singleness of purpose within the state.


President Elect

The President Elect is the host and membership chairperson.  She should have a manner which conveys enthusiasm, friendliness, and sincerity towards members, guests, and prospective ESA members.


Vice President

The Vice-President shall assume the duties of the President Elect in her inability to serve.


Recording Secretary

The Recording Secretary is the transcriber of all meetings of the State Council and Executive Board.  She has aptly been called "the impartial servant of the organization." 

She shall:

    A.  Keep accurate records of the Council meetings.


Corresponding Secretary

The Corresponding Secretary is the communicating arm.  In many cases, a letter is the first impression an organization or person will receive about ESA. 

She shall:
    A.  She shall handle all official correspondence of the State President.


Treasurer

The Treasurer shall handle the monies of the State Council treasury and shall pay out monies upon the direction of the State Council Executive Board. She also is the custodian of the financial records.

She shall: 
    A.  Be the Chief Fiscal Officer of the Council.

    B.  Serve as the Budget Committee Chair.


Parliamentarian

It shall be the duty of the Parliamentarian, as chairperson of the Bylaws Committee, to notify the chapters requesting proposed bylaw and standing rule changes.

She shall:
    A.  Advise the President on matters of procedure.

    B.  Serve as the By-Laws Committee Chair.


Junior Past President

The Junior Past President shall serve as State Disaster Fund Chairperson and serve as Advisor to the Council.

She shall:
    A.  Be responsible for Fall Forum Workshop.

    B.  Serve as Disaster Fund Chair.


Senior Past President

The Senior Past President shall be responsible for workshop at State Convention.
